My tripod is a pain to carry, especially in the rainforest, but it makes possible the obtaining of natural light photographs in dark rainforest conditions. On this particular day we were also in the clouds and conditions were dull even in the open, which didn't help.

This photograph at ISO 3200 required an exposure of 1/16 second at the maximum lens aperture of F/5.6. I was also using the zoom lens at near maximum telephoto of 400mm.

I took several photos working on the assumption, or rather hope, that the almost constantly moving Fernwren would be captured still enough during at least one or two exposures for usable photographs to result.
